The problem has always been that if a page has two or more links to the same destination page, it shows the same stats for both links, there was no telling which link the user actually clicked.
With enhanced link attribution the problem is solved by using a combination of element IDs and destination URL to differentiate between multiple links to the same page.
Thank you Google, I’ve been wanting this for a long time.Google Tag Manager lets you add and update your website tags (including analytics, conversion tracking, remarketing and more), easily and for free, and without bugging the IT department, or as Bryan Eisenberg calls them the business prevention unit.
Anytime you can remove the IT department’s involvement and put power back into the hands of marketing is always a good thing.
