The Hydration Supplement Trend and Opportunity For Your Heath Brand

The demand for dietary supplement is increasing.

With the onset of the pandemic, people are now more interested in taking a proactive approach to their health and are looking for ways to support their health.

Health and wellness is one of those areas that will always have a market.

And as preventative health becomes more mainstream there is no stoping the rise of supplements.

A portion of this expansion will stem from well-established supplement categories.

But the opportunity for growth will be driven by entirely novel product categories.

I’ll explore some of those opportunities in this article, so if you’re a supplement business or looking to start one this is a for you.

How to Amplify a Trending Opportunity

Many supplement start-ups look toward new ingredient that is trending and then develop a formulation around it.

While that’s certainly one way to capitalize on a trend in the market, there are a few tweaks you can make to intensify the chances of success.

Now of course you should provide clinically relevant doses of any ingredient in order to ensure that customers get the most out of your dietary supplements.

This means that the doses should be based on scientific research and should be tailored to meet the individual needs of the customer.

Furthermore, brands should also be transparent about the ingredients in their products.

Okay, those are the table stakes for a supplement product.

But what many marketers miss is that an ingredient trend can be amplified with other trends either inside or outside of the supplement space.

An example of a trend inside the supplement space is the gummy market.

Gummies have been on a steady increase in popularity for some time now.

So the by capitalizing on the opportunity of a novel trending ingredient and combining it with the delivery method in a gummy form.

Is a way to amplify a trend, by combining trends.

An example of a trend outside the supplement space could be a sport that’s increasing in popularity and then creating a novel supplement specifically for that sport.

In this case the popularity of the sport creates a wave of customers that are under served.

If your supplement brand can come in and serve that market by talking to them directly with a unique product for their needs.

You can amplify the trend of that sport. Combine that with a stack of trends like a form factor and a new ingredient and you have a recipe for a successful supplement.

Let’s take a look at an example of this in action.

The Hydration Trend For Active Lifestyles

Many people don’t realize how important hydration is for their health, and it is often overlooked.

But with the rise in popularity of boomer sports like pickleball and platform tennis are all the rage, hydration is on the forefront to becoming the next big dietary supplement trend.

Hydration is essential for active lifestyles, as it helps to keep the body functioning properly and can prevent fatigue and dehydration.

When the body is properly hydrated, it is better able to regulate its temperature, which can help to prevent fatigue and dehydration.

Additionally, hydration helps to keep the body’s electrolyte levels balanced, which can help to prevent muscle cramps and other issues.

Hydration also helps to keep the body’s cells functioning properly, which can help to improve overall health.

By taking the time to properly hydrate, people can ensure that their bodies are functioning at their best and that they are able to stay active.

There are a few brands capitalizing on this trend with a supplement marketed specifically for pickleball.

Pickleball, is a combination of tennis, badminton and ping pong invented back in 1965.

However, this may not entirely be a boomer sport. More than 70% of pickleball players are between the ages of 18 and 44, with the average age being 34 years old.

There is already a market for this growing game and a few supplement brands already marketing specifically to this niche in a trending space.

See Jigsaw Health with their Pickleball Cocktail drink mix as one example.

As well as Re+Gen Nutrition’s Pickeball Fuel Pre Game Formula which is a gummy energy + focus formula on Amazon.

In addition to the competitor Pickle Fuel, a small family owned and operated supplement company.

Many different types of hydration products are available, including electrolyte-enhanced drinks, sports drinks, and even natural hydration products.

Each of these products can help to keep the body hydrated and can help to improve overall health.

Additionally, many of these products are designed to be low in sugar, which can help to prevent sugar spikes and crashes.

Platform tennis is on the rise and may be the next trend after pickleball. I don’t think it will be long before we see rebranded pickle ball formulas become Platform Tennis Fuel.

Be on the look out or jump on this supplement trend now and become the trend setter.
